This story first took shape as a screenplay in 2011. But some stories demand more space, more depth. Over the following years, Sirens Fade began its slow transformation into a novel – a journey that would span more than a decade and cross continents.

Life unfolded: studies, starting a family, and working internationally as a teacher took me from South Africa through Asia, Africa, and the Middle East. These demanding, fulfilling chapters often required putting this project aside. Yet, the
characters and their struggles never truly left me.

I returned to the manuscript whenever possible, stealing moments in the midst of the rewarding chaos of teaching and motherhood. This book was written in those fragments of time, a testament to the stubborn persistence of a story waiting to be
told.
